Favorite (Non-Business) Paid Apps and Services of 2024

Paying for software that helps you run a business is a given for many of us. But paying for software that purley improves your quality of life? Probably a bit less common.

So what apps and services made my life “better” in 2024?

  1. HEY
    • Gmail’s free email offerings are really great. But the screendoor feature and Calendar of HEY are worth $100 a year to me. I love having my inbox contain only the emails that matter the most to me and the HEY calendar adds a splash of fun to the scheduling process.
  2. Rocket Money
    • Rocket Money has been sponsoring a ton of YouTube channels over the past two years. I started paying for their services in June of last year, and their negotiation services saved me $168 in 2024.
  3. Ultimate Guitar
    • I purchased a new bass guitar in February, 2024 and play almost daily. Ultimate Guitar makes jumping into my favorite tab really simple. Their interface is easy to use and the number of pro tabs and chord charts make it an easy purchase for me.
  4. YouTube Premium
    • I watch around 3-4 hours of YouTube content everyday. (In my defense, these are usually at 2-3x speed 😁). If you watch more than 1 hr of YouTube content a day, I feel like YouTube Premium is a must.
  5. Walmart+
    • I dislike grocery shopping. It takes too much time and isn’t fun. I’ve been using Walmart+ for bi-weekly deliveries for over 5-years and I don’t even blink an eye when the subscription renewal notice shows up in my inbox.
