Kits: Electronics Edition

Published on July 25, 2023

Following Van Neistat’s advice to “Kit your sh!t”, I’ve created an EDC electronics kit that never leaves my suitcase. I have a replica of this kit in my work backpack; the only difference is that I don’t carry a travel adapter but a 60-watt plug.

Organizing the Kit

Part of my organization system is that each cable type and size are a different color. Silver cables are USB-C 3ft., dark gray is USB-C 6 ft., and teal is USB-C to Lightning. I can look into my bag at a glance and know which cable I want to grab.

I also purchased these mesh zipper pockets on Amazon. They’re cheap, but they work well enough. The cables go inside the red, adapters inside the blue, the hub inside the orange, and the battery inside the teal—a place for everything and everything in its place.
